Choosing Your CBD Tincture Strength: A Guide from 250mg to 2000mg

“250mg or 2000mg?” is the single most common question at the counter, and the honest answer is: it depends on math, not marketing. Here’s how to actually work it out.

Strength on the label isn’t the whole story

A 2000mg bottle isn’t automatically “stronger” than a 250mg one in any way that matters until you know two more numbers: the bottle size, and how much is in a single serving. A 2000mg tincture in a 30ml bottle delivers roughly 66mg per full dropper. A 250mg tincture in that same 30ml bottle delivers about 8mg per dropper. Same bottle, wildly different amount per use — that’s the actual comparison, not the number printed on the front.

Matching strength to where you actually are

New to CBD: start at the low end — 250mg or 500mg. You can always take more next time; you can’t take less after the fact. There’s no advantage to starting high, and it makes it much harder to tell what a lower amount would have done for you.

Used it a few times, no settled routine yet: 500mg to 1000mg is usually the range where people land once they know roughly what they respond to.

Regular use already: higher-concentration bottles (1500mg–2000mg) cost more up front but less per serving, which is the real reason regular users buy them — not because the number is bigger.

Full-spectrum, and what “strength” changes about it

Every strength of our full-spectrum tincture keeps the same ratio of hemp compounds — cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids working together, plus a trace of THC at or under the federal 0.3% limit. Moving up in strength doesn’t change what’s in it, just how concentrated it is. If you specifically want the THC fully removed, that’s a broad-spectrum question, not a strength one — worth reading CBD vs THC if you’re not sure which you need.

Strength FAQ

Can I just start with the strongest one to save money long-term?

You can, but if it’s your first time, you won’t have a lower dose to compare it to — which makes it harder to actually gauge fit. Starting low costs a little more per bottle short-term and tells you a lot more.

Does a higher mg number mean it works faster?

No — onset speed is about format (sublingual absorbs faster than something swallowed), not concentration. How long CBD takes to work breaks that down by format.

What if I picked the wrong strength?

Adjust your serving size, not necessarily the bottle — a lower-strength bottle just means a bigger dropper amount to get the same total, and vice versa. If you want a completely different starting point, our Dosage Matrix walks through it by body weight.

Shop by strength

Our full-spectrum tincture comes in five strengths, 250mg through 2000mg, in one place so you can compare them directly rather than hunting across separate product pages.
